A bold and vibrant still life by the multi-talented Doris Zinkeisen who traversed and conquered the 1920s and 30s art scene as well as the world of theatre. A painter, theatrical stage and costume designer and writer, Doris was the toast of London society. Vivacious, sassy and stylish, she rubbed shoulders with the likes of Noel Coward, John Gielgud, and Laurence Olivier.

A well respected artist, Doris had her first painting shown at the Royal Academy in 1918 when she was aged 16 and continued to exhibit there until 1938.

Known for her flamboyant palette of rich colours, her still lifes and portraits are strikingly distinct.
